From the first episode of the simply HILARIOUS Ouran High School Host Club, I knew I wanted to cosplay Haruhi. I adore everything about her, the way she interacts with the hosts, and her down-to-earth "commoner" manner. 

While this seems like simple construction, I found out quickly that it was not as easy as I'd imagined.  We (being me and my friend Sam, who cosplayed our Kyoya) used a slightly altered ladies blazer pattern, basically in a size too small, but with the front darts removed.

We used a good, sturdy cotton blend twill I believe (it wasn't really marked... but whatever) that took pretty well to the lines of the jacket.  The patches were ordered from roc productions, and are just lovely!  They really brought the whole jacket together.

For myself, the rest was just a pair of dress pants, a white dress shirt, and the excellent ties made by Sam.  The wig I purchased from Ebay... after a second try, I got it right. XD

I just love this jacket, and while I do not anticipate making any more blazers in the future, it was certainly a learning experience. XD

This costume debuted at Nan Desu Kan 2006, with other friends as Ouran characters as well.
