I've been a fan of Romeo and Juliet in any and all forms since high school, when the old Romeo+Juliet came out, and we happened to be studying it at the same time.  I still can't help hoping when I'm watching it that they might - this time! - just make it!  ;_;

So when Gonzo came out with their version - which seems to have little to do with Shakespeare's story other than the names... however, there's a very Escaflowne-ish feel to it that I love - I snapped it up and fell in love with another starcrossed couple.  Juliet is my favorite character, and while she's been changing a lot, she's very strong behind everything!

When I found the PERFECT wig in a Inara's closet and she gave it to me, I knew I had to do one of the costumes.  I'm really fond of her peachy-colored everyday dress.  I like the small details like the neckline, as well as the overall simplicity.  Most of the ensemble is linen, all trimmed in khaki bias tape, and was very easy to wear and dress in... about the only costume I wore to NDK in which I could dress myself. XD

The second part to this was calling up my friend Einlanzer about two weeks before the con and going, "So, hey.  There's this character in Romeo x Juliet with assbelts and two swords.  It's Tybalt.  If I make it, will you wear it?"  And the rest is history.

This costume made it's debut at NDK 2007, with Einlanzer as Tybalt.  ^^  Also, Dahlia as Romeo.
